MARKUS WEBER

SOUND DESIGNER / MD - STUDIO FUNK

Markus Weber is a managing director at Studio Funk, one of the largest audio production networks in Germany.

He started making music at the age of 15. An old classical guitar given to him as a gift and a Bontempi organ that he paid for himself using the earnings from his paper round helped him with his first attempts at song writing, the results of which still had some room for improvement.

At the age of 18, he bought his first synthesizer and began to immerse himself into the world of electronic music.

As a sound editor, he has recorded and mixed countless audio and music productions over the past 32 years.

As well as managing operations at Studio Funk, he also works as a composer and arranger.

He has composed numerous pieces for various well-known brands and channels, which sadly leaves him little time to work on his own songs. However, he never gives up hope of one day being able to finish his tracks.

SASCHA DARROCH-DAVIES

JOINT MD - ADELPHOI

Sascha has studied music since aged 5 beginning with violin.

Soon after came drums and 10 years of little else, hammering it out in sweaty rehearsal rooms, sweaty music venues playing for very noisy bands.

A degree in music followed, as did several more years in sweaty bands, sweaty European tours, a record deal with Wall Of Sound and the world's pinkest drum kit.

The decision to get a real job wasn't taken lightly, in fact it wasn't taken at all.  e started running for production companies working with Directors like Sam Brown and Sara Dunlop aiding James Blunt to jump off a cliff and nearly drowning the Foo Fighters in red paint.

A couple of years bothering ad agency folk as a rep followed, then in 2008 he went to work as a music producer/supervisor with a guy called Brian who worked with very famous pop stars. In 2011 Sascha joined Adelphoi Music producing/supervising/disrupti-ng on mostly commercials and content for brands. Sascha is now Joint MD at Adelphoi.

Yessian Germany now has been running since 2010, with six employees and a studio in Hamburg’s Sternschanzen-district.

Recent projects include work for IKEA, BMW, Zalando, Volkswagen and McDonald's across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

PATRICIA CHEMOUL

MUSIC SUPERVISOR -

JWT PARIS

Being passionate about sound and imagery, Patricia began her career working at production companies (7 Films, Morgane Productions, Quad Productions…) on a variety of musical documentaries and clips and also advertising campaigns.

Patricia then started at J. Walter Thompson where she first worked in post-production and then as TV Producer – Music Supervisor. She has worked on a wide range of campaigns (Pepsi, Hollywood, Nestlé, BMW, Tudor, Rolex, Jaguar, Microsoft…), and collaborates with the majors, independent labels and composers, with well-known artists and equally with those who are up and coming.  Her aim is to create a meeting of minds, a synergy between artist and brand at a precise moment in time.

Music has a power that goes beyond images or words. When a piece of music is perfectly aligned with the copy’s message and when it enhances both the creative idea and the artistic direction, then one can be sure that the campaign will be memorable indeed.
