String and Tins…

This was an incredibly special project comprising of 25 idents for Channel 4 playing in sequence.

Each sound designer was given a few of them to design, before sound supervisor Will Cohen brought them all together in the mix with the poem.

We recorded a large amount of bespoke sounds for the project, both on the shoot locations and in the studio, using a pair of Sanken CO-100K microphones, capable of reaching high frequency content unavailable to most conventional microphones. This provided excellent source material for extreme time stretching.

Each ident was considered in great detail for its sonic experience, both as an individual film and in the context of the whole sequence.

Just brilliant.
