MACHINE HEAD SOUND DESIGN AND MUSIC, LA
Stephen founded Machine Head Music and Sound Design in Venice, California in the spring of 1991. This followed a short period during which he had created sound designs for a few movies--Ridley Scott's "Black Rain" and Adrian Lyne's "Jacob's Ladder"-- and made his commercial debut with Ridley's now legendary Nissan Turbo Z "Dreamer" Super Bowl commercial. Machine Head took on a studio-like environment that became home to a succession of similarly spirited composers and sound designers.
Over the years there have been many prestigious awards, including the first ever (Gold) Sound Design Clio and for a long time Stephen has been credited as the person responsible for introducing the art of sound design as a discretely recognized craft into the commercial production world.
WAVE STUDIOS, AMSTERDAM
Alex is a sound designer and composer based in the thriving creative hub of Amsterdam. Classically-trained, and with 20 years' experience in audio post, Alex moved from London in 2008 to head up the team at the Wave Studios facility in the Netherlands. With mixing and musical sound design becoming his forte, Alex then went on to pick up the coveted 2014 ADCN award for sound design.
Alex has also been re-recording mixer for several features, including St George’s Day, and assisted with the sound design for Under The Skin. Recent commercial credits include work for Sberbank, Samsung, Nike, Tomorrowland, Desperados, S7 and Carlsberg.

Simon is Australia’s most awarded sound designer having won every major sound design award from Gold Clios and Gold World Medals in New York to London Internationals and numerous AWARD awards. He has received the Centenary Medal from the Prime Minister for services to the Australian Film Industry.
An ex-professional racing driver, Simon has long been considered the go-to guy in Australia for all auto related sound design spots, specializing in location recording to get the authentic sounds he needs.

As Senior Sound Designer and Head of Audio at Gramercy Park Studios, Toby Griffin continues to build on his solid reputation, which stems from 18 years at Jungle Studios.
With a healthy portfolio of clients and brands, he has established himself as one of the top audio engineers in Soho and has an increasing list of awards to his name, including - Best Use Of Sound Design at MAS International Awards 2013.
As a passionate Formula One fan, he has worked on more than 20 F1 promos and title sequences for The BBC and Channel 4 over the last 8 years. And his recent work includes bespoke sound design for Nike, Jaguar, Ford, Volvo and the Senna Collection for Tag Heuer.
A former semi-professional drummer and composer, Toby has a good ear for music editing and extensive experience of voice recording, mixing, foley, ADR and of course sound design.

Anthony is a Founding Partner of Factory Studios and the Factory Family group, which also incorporates SIREN, Texture and Honey.
As Creative Director at Factory, Anthony has over 20 years experience in audio, music and broadcasting. Always at the forefront of modern sound design, Anthony and his talented team at Factory have produced some of the most awarded and revered commercial work of recent years.
Anthony is passionate about promoting the craft of creative sound design and his work has been globally recognised by the likes of the Cannes Lions, BAFTA, D&AD, Clio’s, Music And Sound Awards and the British Arrows.
Projects of note include an impressive body of work created for Honda, with films such as ‘Hands’, ‘Ignition’ and ‘The Other Side’ to name but a few. Anthony has also been involved in every John Lewis Christmas commercial since the launch of the iconic ‘Long Wait’ back in 2011.
More recent projects have seen Anthony creating the sound design for Sainsbury’s and their ‘Mog’ Christmas campaign, plus work for the BBC, Virgin Media, Under Armour and Channel 4’s epic Rio 2016 Paralympics trailer, ‘We’re The Superhumans’.

Steve Bond is an award-winning sound designer and re-recording mixer for film and radio. He graduated with a distinction from the National Film and Television School in 2012 (MA Sound Design) and works from various locations, including his own 5.1 studio in London.
He has been part of several award-winning and nominated productions including 'Boogaloo and Graham' - BAFTA win and Oscar nomination in 2015, 'Slow Derek' which won the Grand Prix at the Encounters Film Festival in 2011, and 'Q&A' (AKA Slumdog Millionaire) which won a Gold Sony Award in 2008.
At the 2016 Music+Sound Awards, Steve won 'Best Sound Design: Feature Film', for 'Nina Forever' and 'Best Sound Design: Television Programme' for 'Messy Goes to Okido'.

Composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Self-taught, he began to experiment with sound and music from a young age.
His first scores for short films and documentaries began to attract attention and positive acclaim which led to him to receive commissions for other projects. He then moved into composing for advertising, a sector in which he now has years of experience and has received solid recognition.
Later, he began to create soundtracks for animation series, a format that particularly excites Iván as it allows him to delve deeper into the universe of sound that evolves and accompanies the viewer across seasons.
Also highly acclaimed, is his TV Branding work for channels such as Movistar+, Canal+ France, amongst others.
Iván is currently working on an EP that will be published in 2017, as well as working with Banjo Music, his creative studio for audio branding.
Banjo Music has received a number of special mentions and awards in the sector, including a Music+Sound Award for 'best original composition', in the Branding+Ident category in 2016.
MARCELLO DE FRANCISCI
Marcello De Francisci is an American composer with an Italian-Argentinean background. Due to his father's job as an international sales manager, Marcello spent most of his early life travelling and living abroad.
These journeys and experiences were the building blocks of his temperament as an artist as well as the foundation to an extensive musical palette he currently brings to the motion picture industry today.
In 1993 he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a film composer. He started out scoring independent films alongside working with multiple production music libraries. His music was used on numerous motion picture trailers and his work started to pick up a bit of steam. In 2006 he won the best soundtrack of the year G.A.N.G. award for his work on SCEA’s “God of War” game.
Two years later he partnered with Golden Globe winner and Academy Award nominee singer/composer Lisa Gerrard who scored films like “Gladiator” (alongside Hans Zimmer), “Heat” and “Ali”. Together, they went on to work on feature films like “Balibo”, “Oranges & Sunshine” starring Emily Watson, “Burning Man”, “Insight” and “Samsara” the anticipated sequel to the renowned film “Baraka”. They won two Australian Film Critic’s Circle Awards for their work on “Balibo” and “Oranges & Sunshine”.
Marcello’s latest collaborative soundtrack score effort with Lisa Gerrard has been for “Jane Got A Gun”, a Weinstein Company, twenty five million dollar film starring Natalie Portman and Ewan McGregor.

Nainita Desai is an award-winning, composer for film & television. She has written many memorable scores for broadcasters including the BBC, C4, ITV, HBO, SKY, Discovery, Nat Geo, and Smithsonian as well as for most of the leading UK independent production companies, and has developed a reputation for producing music that is original, rich, inspiring and diverse.
Many of Nainita’s projects have won or been nominated for numerous awards including OSCARS, BAFTAs, EMMYs and RTS Awards. She is a current BAFTA Breakthrough Brit 2016, won a RTS Best Sound award for Vinnie Jones: Russia's Toughest (Nat Geo) and won the MUSIC+SOUND AWARD 2016 for the Feature film THE CONFESSIONS OF THOMAS QUICK (BFI / Film4 / Picturehouse). She also scored the hugely internationally acclaimed OSCAR nominated film LITTLE TERRORIST which won her a Lucarnia Intl film music award.
Nainita has also worked as Sound Designer on many features including LITTLE BUDDHA (Keanu Reeves, Bridget Fonda), AUGUST (Anthony Hopkins) and HACKERS (Angelina Jolie).

Scuta is the Founder and Creative Director of Soviet Science Music. His career began as a runner in TV production back in the late 90s. His passion for music swiftly moved him on to music promos for Jamiroquai and later he found a home in the TV Dept at Grey London. With a passion for both film and music, it finally occurred to him to combine the two sides and he formed Soviet Science Music in 2002.
Since then he has written music for Clients including Jaguar, O2, BBC, Google, Channel 4 and even Michael Moore. His bands 'The Dallas Guild' and 'Social Skills' have been synchronized to TVCs for VW, Nurofen and Bompass & Parr's wobbling jelly viral hit. They also collaborated with director AJ Colomb on a promo/documentary about a transexual prostitute in Milan!
CRISTOBAL TAPIA DE VEER

Multiple award winning Cristobal "Cristo" Tapia de Veer is a Chilean born, classically trained film and TV score composer, producer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist based in Montreal, Canada.
He started working on film scores together with French-Canadian singer Jorane, for "I am Dina" (dir: Ole Bornedal), "LoveSick" (dir: Lewis Cohen, Cirque de Soleil), "Kamataki" (dir: Claude Gagnon), and "Un dimanche à Kigali" (dir: Robert Favreau), winner of a Prix Jutra 2007, CAN, for best original music.
In 2011 he scored his first mini-TV series "The Crimson Petal and the White" (dir: Marc Munden, BBC2), nominated at the BAFTA'S 2012 for Best mini-series.
2 years later Munden and Cristo teamed up again to work on C4's "Utopia". The 2 x 6 episode long conspiracy thriller won an International EMMY Award 2014 for best drama series. His music for Utopia won the 2013 Royal Television Society Craft and Design Award, UK, for best original score and got nominated for the same Award again in 2014 ("Utopia 2"). In 2015 his original score for the second season was awarded with a Music+Sound Award.
In 2013, he composed the music for new TV-drama "Série Noire" (dir: JF Rivard), for which he won twice at the PRIX GEMEAUX (ACCT) in 2014. Later that year, he began work on the BBC One mini-series "Jamaica Inn", directed by BAFTA award-winning Phillipa Lowthorpe.
His latest works can be heard in "Humans", C4's biggest drama hit in 20 years and nominated for best drama series at the BAFTAS 2016 as well as Série Noire 2.
The recently released, "The Girl with all the Gifts" directed by Colm McCarthy starring Glenn Close, Gemma Arterton and Paddy Considine, is his first feature film.
FILM + TV COMPOSER
Ivor Novello nominated and Telly award winning composer Walter Mair has created dramatic original scores for feature films and television drama. His latest projects include Oliver Hirschbiegel's 6-part cold war drama, The Same Sky; Universal's documentary feature, Ronaldo, directed by BAFTA winning director Anthony Wonke; Toby Tobias' thriller Blood Orange starring Ben Lamb and Iggy Pop; and edgy television drama series such as BBC 1's Cuffs and E4's teen drama mini-series Glue.
Studying in his native Austria, Mair graduated in music composition for orchestra at Vienna University with a major in music composition for motion pictures from Salzburg University. His diverse repertoire ranges from epic full orchestral scores recorded with 80-piece choirs to intimate, small ensembles and hybrid electronic scores featuring an eclectic mix of live recorded solo instruments and found sounds.
Mair maintains a personal state-of-the-art recording studio in Soho, London, the heart of Europe's post-production community, recording with A-list orchestras at major studios including Abbey Road Studios and Air Studios, and works with filmmakers in Los Angeles and commercial clients worldwide.

Peter Raeburn is a composer, producer and songwriter. He is the creative director and founder of multi award-winning Soundtree Music, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
Peter is known for his work on director Jonathan Glazer’s films Under The Skin, Birth, and Sexy Beast (BAFTA nomination for Best Music, Best Music Award winner for the Los Angeles Film Critics Award, European Film Awards, London Critics Circle Awards, Indiana Film Journalists Awards, Chicago Film Critics Awards, amongst many others). Peter also helped shape the soundtrack of Lars Von Trier’s Breaking The Waves and was music consultant for Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, directed by Justin Chadwick. He composed the music for Raoul Martinez and Joshua Van Praag’s Creating Freedom: Lottery of Birth, nominated for Best Documentary at Raindance Film Festival, and his music was featured extensively in Blue Valentine. Peter composed the score and songs for indie-favourite Joshua Leonard’s feature film The Lie. He has penned the score for the forthcoming films Woodshock, directed by Kate and Laura Mulleavy and The Last Photograph, directed by Danny Huston.
Peter’s achievements include some of the most iconic commercial spots, including Guinness (Surfer/Bet on Black/Dreamclub), Sony (Music Pieces, Paint), Sony PlayStation (Mountain), Stella Artois (Ice Skating Priests), Levi’s (Twist/Odyssey), IKEA (Beds) and Lurpak (Go Freestyle) to name but a few. He composed the music for the Commonwealth Games 2014, as well as a rich variety of compositions for film & TV (including the long running ITV 1 idents). Peter is also the person behind the music and sound that is ‘Skype’.
He has won some of the industries highest accolades including numerous Cannes Lions, D&AD Awards, British Arrows, Creative Circle Awards and Clio Awards for original composition.

Karla has been working in and around the advertising and music industry for nearly 15 years. Starting in dispatch at an advertising agency she worked her way into the creative department where she scribbled on blank paper for about 5 years. Having a musical background she naturally gravitated across to producing at a recording studio that specialized in music for post and advertising. That later lead her to work for legendary record company, and home to AC/DC, Albert Music were she managed their recording studios. With a Masters degree in Arts Management under her belt, the call came to submerge herself back into the world of music for advertising and Nylon were lucky enough to have her join their team.

Daniel Kuypers is a 17 year music industry veteran who has been producing music for brands for the past 9 years. Prior to joining Energy BBDO to start and run the music department, he was at Music Dealers, where he led the creative department focusing on the Coca Cola account, working on multiple award winning campaigns. Getting his start as a musician, and establishing EV Productions & EV Records, an umbrella of Chicago’s most well respected indie labels, distribution companies and recording studios, Daniel released over 100 records across three labels and toured the globe as a DJ and performer.
As the Director of Music at Energy BBDO Daniel works with internal teams and clients to use music in new, innovative ways while creating value for both the artist and the client. He has brought groundbreaking music to JWT, making branded entertainment a reality for even the most unexpected clients, including Schick and Diamond Trading Company (“A Diamond is Forever” campaigns), and has further strengthened giants like Smirnoff and Macys – collaborating with artists across the music spectrum, helping start quite a few careers in the process. “Music Psychic” Andrew Kahn initially became interested in supervision as a way to prolong those nostalgic days of making mix-tapes for friends, cultivating his innate desire to discover and share great music. Jonathan began in advertising at Ogilvy Johannesburg, where he worked for a decade – as a copywriter, creative director, board member and occasional office party DJ.
He has received numerous local and international awards – including multiple Gold and Grand Prix - from Cannes, One Show, Clio, LIAA, Promax, the Creative Circle and Loerie Awards. He has been invited to judge at the Loerie Awards, the LIAA, Creative Circle, Cannes Lions and Dubai Lynx, and also served on the South African Creative Circle.
Jonathan is a lifelong musicaholic. He has been a DJ, collector of vinyl and collator of mixtapes since junior school, played drums and piano in many criminally under-rated bands, worked as a music journalist, composed and produced music for commercials and film, and also served as a judge at the South African Music Awards.

Britta has worked at many top agencies in Germany since starting her career. At McCann Erickson The Communications House Berlin, she became the only woman in the German advertising industry to hold the title of Chief Creative Officer.
Since January 2015 she has worked for Ogilvy Düsseldorf as Global Executive Creative Director.
She has won many awards and has been a member of creative award jurys like Cannes, Dubai Lynx, ADC of Europe, ADC Germany, Deutscher Werbefilmpreis and many more.

Nigel Marchant is an Emmy and Golden Globe award winning producer and joined Carnival Films in 2011 as Executive Producer, having previously produced for Carnival series one of Downton Abbey and The Philanthropist for Carnival/NBC.
Prior to his time at Carnival, Nigel accumulated nearly twenty years of production experience on numerous dramas including six miniseries for Hallmark Entertainment, Fingersmith and Fanny Hill for the BBC, Without You and The Suspicions of Mr Whicher for ITV, The American Embassy for Twentieth Century Fox Television, Bride and Prejudice for Miramax, Charlie Wilson’s War, Rendition and the Sex & the City movie.
Since joining Carnival, Nigel has executive produced series four, five and six of BAFTA and RTS award nominated Downton Abbey for ITV / Masterpiece, RTS award nominated series The Last Kingdom for BBC / BBC America, Sir David Hare’s Worricker Trilogy for the BBC and Co-Executive Produced Dracula for Sky Living / NBC. He is currently Executive Producing The Last Kingdom 2 for BBC / Netflix and Jamestown for Sky 1.
